Network Architect
Proprietary trading firm is seeking an exceptional Network Architect to focus on designing, developing, and maintaining networks to support traders. Responsibilities involve building network infrastructure, responding to network problems, short and long term project work, and continually driving improvements in network performance.
Responsibilities:
-Work with teammates to drive the design and deployment of new installations of trading systems at exchange co-locations.
-Design and implement high performance, low latency WAN infrastructure.
-Employ innovative thought and automation to improve productivity, workflow, and technology deployment.
-Identify and evaluate new technology.
-Troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues.
-Find and improve performance bottlenecks.
-Work closely with other parts of the business to identify areas of high opportunity.
Qualifications:
-Experience supporting applications in a Network environment is a must.
-Must have experience in a Linux environment and scripting to promote automation.
-Prior experience with proprietary trading firms and exchanges is desired.
-Deep understanding of IP networking: Switching, Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), Multicast (IGMP, PIM).
-Expertise with high-performance LAN technology (10 G ethernet, product architecture).
-Expertise with optical WAN technology (SONET, DWDM/CWDM, MPLS).
-Performance analysis and troubleshooting: Packet capture and analysis, Tapping and spanning.
-Deep understanding of the TCP/IP protocol.
-Experience with data center planning and deployment.
-Experience with a scripting language such as python or perl.
-Experience with the Linux operating system.
-C/C++, SQL a plus.
-Able and willing to do critical strategy work all the way through hands on implementation.
-Eager to work in a collaborative, team environment.
-Detail oriented, analytical mindset, highly effective at decision making.
-Ability to manage numerous business priorities with ease.
