Be part of a team responsible for building, monitoring, managing and maintaining data centers.

Responsibilities:
-Work with contractors and/or collocation providers to build, expand and move datacenter facilities as business needs dictate.
-Coordinate with project managers to follow and extend project management standards and methodologies as related to datacenter work.
-Perform physical installation and cabling for datacenter equipment (servers, switches, storage, WAN circuit cross-connects, etc).
-Work with remote datacenter technicians to facilitate installation of equipment and cabling in the remote locations.
-Establish monitoring of environment (temperature and humidity) and PDU/power systems; ensure environment and power consumption stay within acceptable ranges.
-Track capacity utilization of datacenters, provide utilization reports and forecasting.
-Work with vendors to manage purchasing and track shipments/deliveries of DC infrastructure equipment (cabinets, PDUs, cabling, etc) and DC systems (servers, switches, routers).
-Configure IP based management and perform basic OS installation on new server systems.
-Maintain documentation of datacenter systems and connectivity, track inventories of cables and spares.
- Adhere to established guidelines and procedures and create documentation to describe new procedures.
-Perform on-site work at remote datacenters as needed (less than 25% travel).

Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of supporting data center environments.
-Solid data center infrastructure knowledge and understanding of the following technologies (PDU, UPS, Generator, Chiller, CRAC etc).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience working as part of a project team.
-Solid understanding of networking infrastructure and computing hardware.
-Knowledge of common cabling standards for network communications.
-Self motivated and dependable.
-Ability to lift 80 pounds.
-Availability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) as required.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems is helpful.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
